Hot Tub Winterization
Wintertime is the BEST time to use a hot tub, but if you want to close it, properly shutting it down during inclement weather months is a very important aspect of ownership keeping your hot tub in pristine condition for years to come. Frozen lines and broken pipes can lead to expensive repair costs. Rest assured when you hire Pools & Cues & Spas, Too, the task will be completed correctly, and your hot tub will be safe!
(We can open your hot tub, too! Scroll down for more on services we offer for hot tub openings!)

Recommendations & Precautions
It is recommended that the customer tarp their spa and weigh the tarp down after we complete the winterization and have them remove snow loads off the cover or put sheets of plywood over the tarp. This is for protection of your cover and to prevent water from entering the hot tub (water can enter into the hot tub through the cover when the tub is empty.) Pools & Cues & Spas, Too does not supply tarps or plywood nor do we put the plywood on the spa or attach the tarp. This is the customer’s responsibility.
WHILE YOUR HOT TUB IS EMPTY: Mold & Mildew WILL build-up on the inside of the hot tub and cover if the tub is left empty for long periods of time, especially during the months of April – October. To prevent this from happening, it is recommended to open the cover every 2-3 weeks to air the tub out and prevent the mildew or mold build-up. We are NOT responsible for mold/mildew build-up after winterization. To clean any mildew or mold, you will need to clean the surface with bleach and water.
